Mass calibration laboratory is a part of the laboratory centre from the calibration and the development section, at the Ministry of economy-Bureau of metrology.
This laboratory posses sophisticated equipment (mass comparators) designed for calibration of weights from 1 mg to 50 kg, with readability from µm to 1 mg, depend from the capacity of the comparators.
The laboratory standards (weights) are made from stainless steel and they present high E1, E2, F1 and F2 class. The laboratory procedures include uncertainty determination, because many variables have influence during the calibration process, for examples:
The primary goal of the mass calibration laboratory is to develop and maintain the national reference standard for mass through comparison with other metrological institutes and National laboratories, which are traceable to BIPM (Paris, France). Interlaboratory comparison with other national metrological institutes and the EUROMET-members will be very important step for the international recognition of the national mass standard, calibration certificates and the results, obtained from the measurements, which will recognized the infrastructure of our countries, as base of our disperse model.
