Regional Meeting of Directors of NMI from Southeastern Europe

On December 3rd, 2010 in Budva, Montenegro, regional meeting of Directors of National Metrology Institutions in the region of Southeast Europe was held. The Directors from the National Metrology Institutes form Macedonia, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia, participated the meeting. The purpose of the meeting was to initiate better communication and cooperation between institutions in the region, defining common interests and joint participation in international funds, etc.. Also, issues about the possibility of forming a regional network in order organization of inter-laboratory comparisons, organization of joint scientific symposia in accordance with the needs of the region, were discussed at the meeting.
At last, it was decided that in May 2011, in the Republic of Croatia, all Metrology Institutes of the region to sign a Memorandum of Understanding, in order to make official, the conclusions of this meeting.
